@MamaWick So interesting to see the beginning of their antlers.

I haven't seen any deer around my area in a long time, miss seeing them.

During the antler growth phase the bucks can feel sensitive in their new growth b/c there is increased blood flow and nerves in them. The extra sensitivity is there to alert the bucks of any imposing danger which could harm their glory. Sensitivity fades as the antlers reach full size.

Like others, I'm fascinated by the nubbins popping up.

The buck in the first photo looks as though he is dancing to the "Hokey Pokey."

The nubbins on the young boys look totally different when they start.

@MamaWick  Great pictures, thank you!   These are really up close and personal.  I'm sure that the deer bodies appreciate all the nutritional food and water that you provide, as the building of new antlers must be hard on them in the sense of supplying the building blocks. The same is true for the pregnant does.

@MamaWick ...The beauties are out in full force today.

It appears they are hungry and where else would they go other than to MamaWick's yard.  I just love looking at them, especially when it is a real closeup like the first picture, he/she is looking right at me, "Hi Gorgeous."
