You would be such an asset at a animal sanctuary.  Your compassion, MamaWick, and your kindness toward these animals is a gift of trust and love.  Seeing the bucks eating out of your hand shows how gentle and sweet the deer are.  Animals and people can get along, there are those who give of themselves quietly and without fanfare, you , through all the great pictures and interactions are indeed one of those people .  All is good at the Wick animal haven!!!!!!

@MamaWick   Wow, is about all I can say.  You have really built up some trust with the deer and it was a buck that let you rub his face.  I would have thought that they would be more agressive and more stand-offish (I'm sure there is a better word than stand-offish, but I can't think of it.).  I would think the females would be more inclined to the face rubbing. 

Any way, it's just amazing to see how well you and the deer communicate and get along.  Just amazing.

Oh, one question.  Do you talk to them while feeding?

By December, when the rut starts, the bucks won't be so friendly and I won't be so close!  

They come to our yard at various times throughout the day, but late afternoon is their best time to visit.
