The photos of mommy and Mija are precious! Mija is maturing and it is sweet seeing her and mom hanging out at the Wick's, such a tranquil scene. It's a happy mom and child bonding!

We are cyclone fenced, one of the few that is around here, but still, every once in a while, deer get in as in this morning.

I was taking my dogs out to do their morning business and I saw a rose bush shaking vigorously so knew it was not a bird, and sure enough it was a doe. Now, how to get her off the property. She must have jumped a leaning fence, so DH put colored rags on it as once it kept them out. If I can't get her off the property, my garden will cease to exist, already have been battling rats as they eat everything also, just not entire plants as deer do.

This is the first year I hadn't seen any deer around here, and wouldn't you know that the first one is in my gardens!

There is an orchard across the road and deer eat the fruit off of the trees.

Deer have extremely good hearing!

When you watch them graze, pay close attention to their ears, which flick and bend like little radar detectors as they listen for sounds; deer can move their ears separately, and have long range hearing.
