So beautiful !  I'm jealous they are munching on crunchy carrots today as I'm home recovering from dental surgery and eating scrambled eggs.  LOL

I do like that Willow is ready for her nap. That's exactly what I plan on doing the rest of the day.  :-)

Thanks for posting. These pics always make my day a little brighter.

@MamaWick   Thank you for the beautiful pictures and updates of your herd.  It's so fascinating to see the antler cycle up close.  Do they shed them on your property?

I am glad to hear that the shedding is a natural occurrence.  I used to think that great harm came to the bucks in order to get the racks. 🦌🦌.

Woofs and hugs to the ever adorable Miss Willow White.  🥰. She appears to be looking at someone with her adoring eyes.  Love her chew toy. Have all her puppy teeth been replaced by adult ones?

Woofs and love to sweet Cricket in heaven. 💕🌈

The cycle of the Bucks losing their antlers is amazing and visiting this post has taught me about gentle woodland creatures.  It is always a bright spot of my day at the Wick post.

So cute that Willow always has her toys nearby when she takes her naps!  Sweet dreams and fun!

All of them look so sweet.  I know they are safe here, thank goodness.

The one that just shed his antlers must feel the weight difference!

@luvzchiz  I have found two different  antler sheds in our backyard 3 years ago, but none since 😒  We walk around the empty lots in search, but no luck.  I understand smaller animals will cart them off.

@nooni  I don't know if it hurts, but sometimes there is a bloody crater left.  I guess it might on some.  My neighbor said she had a buck in her front yard who just shook his head and it went flying.  They don't usually lose both at the same time.

@MamaWick   Thanks for your reply.  Love learning about nature and all its wonders.

How interesting that other wildlife might be the "cleanup crew" or recyclers.  Perhaps they are used in den building or for chewing.   I have seen deer antlers sold like billy sticks for dogs.  I have never purchased them though.

Our vet says a hard NO to deer antlers for dogs. They are so hard that they can chip or break dog's teeth.
