I'm pretty sure everyone already knows this is the DS weekend ....  "Spring Forward ... Fall Back".

My question is ... wasn't there discussions and a decision to finally end DS in the United States ... even a few years down the road?

PLEASE ... nothing political.  Just share what you know about this.

TIA !  Woman Happy

Re: DAYLIGHT SAVINGS - QUESTION

I remember it being discussed but I don't think a decision was ever made.  Doesn't Congress have to vote on it?

Re: DAYLIGHT SAVINGS - QUESTION

Is USA going to stop daylight saving?

Lawmakers got closer in 2022, when the Senate passed legislation that would have made daylight saving time permanent starting in 2023, but it did not progress in the House, and new bipartisan legislation introduced this year isn't expected to move the needle.

Re: DAYLIGHT SAVINGS - QUESTION

Back in March 2022, the senate passed a bill to end the switch and stay permanently with daylight saving time starting in 2023.  However as of the fall of 2023 the bill was still hung up in the house of representatives. Just yesterday, Sen Marco Rubio who introduced the bill urged the house to pass the bill.

My gosh, things do certainly drag on and on for years.  I wish they would just pass the bill and be done with it.

@Tinkrbl44.  Lots of talk at state and national levels but no action.

Re: DAYLIGHT SAVINGS - QUESTION

It's not plural.  It's Daylight Saving Time.

Re: DAYLIGHT SAVINGS - QUESTION

They talk about it every year.

I'd rather stay with Standard time if we're not going to switch back and forth.  I hate getting up in the dark and it's still dark when the school buses run.  At least we get a reprieve for awhile when we change back to Standard time.  They already messed things up when they changed WHEN the changes were made many years back.
