Cyclone heading for Fiji

There's a cyclone that looks like it's gonna be a direct hit on Fiji in the coming hours.  I feel terrible for anyone with vacation plans there this coming week.  I pray the poeple are all safe and there are no fatalities.

Every spring and summer I worry about the tornado warnings... I can't imagine the dread fear of a Cyclone....I hope it takes another direction and dissapears...hurting no one ...

I used to work with a nurse who married a teacher and they moved to Guam to work. She says cyclones (another word for hurricanes ) are the norm for them in the South Pacific, and they don't get very excited. She and her husband and children live in the back of the school on a military base there and she says the homes withstand the storms just fine.

I was so sorry to see this on the news. I've been to Fiji on vacation - the people and the islands are beautiful 

I wish them well and hope everyone is safe - and I hope the US is ready to assist them if necessary.
