I just got a notice in the mail that T-Mobile learned on August 17, 2021 a bad actor illegally accessed personal data from T-Mobile systems, to which the criminal gained access on or before July 19,2021. They got personal information, including your name, driver's license/ID information, date of birth, and Social Security number. That's just great. Now I have a Tracfone which I guess uses T-Mobile, I have never used T-Mobile directly. Another thing to worry about.

@Jordan2 How did Tracphone get that information? I have a Tracphone and I've never given them any kind of personal information.

I had TMobile, after they took over Sprint. They really ruined Sprint. I ws actually with Nextel, many years ago, when Sprint took over. There were some glitches but they got it together and it was good.
Then, recently when TM took over Sprint it got bad fast. I tried to give it every chance but, a few months later and when I got the letter telling me that my not-old phone would no longer work after the end of the year and I'd just have to buy a new one, I took the opportunity to move on.
I went to Spectrum and not only was the phone WAY WAY cheaper, so is the service. Even with the cost of the phone split into 24pmts, and including my service, now I pay $26 a month. I was paying more than twice that with Tmobile. Spectrum is powered by Verizon, so that was good to know. Verizon was my other first choice but the price was way too high. I'm super happy with Spectrum.

@Jordan2, did the email just advise you or did it instruct you to do something?
Did you by chance hover over the sender information to be certain it came from T-Mobile?

@Marp this wasn't an email it came in the mail. Like I said they may have sent out a mass mailing, it is possible I'm not affected as I have never had T-Mobile. I wonder why I haven't heard about this if it's on the up and up on the news?

I've had T-mobile for over 14 years and haven't had any problems. I have not received a letter by mail or email.
