Cuttlebug Metal Adaptor plate

Cheery Lynn Designs - "Cuttlebug" Metal Adaptor Plate

I have one but can't seem to figure it out. Anyone try it? If so what is the sandwich recipe? What am I doing wrong?

I tried many sandwiching formulas but it's either too tight or too loose and in the end I feel doing without this adaptor is much eaiser for me. aaaaargh
