Customer Product Reviews

[ Edited ]

I wish that those who choose to review a product do just that -- give us your thought on the actual product.  NOT the fact that you paid $7 more than it's being shown for now (and that's why you gave it two stars).  The reviews are to help others interested in buying the item make a better decision.

Agree! And -- please -- give us your size, your weight, your height and anything else that will help us identify body types, etc. The best reviews go the extra mile so the reader can be a fair judge of the product, whether it's fashion, makeup, or other.

It's appreciated!

Re: Customer Product Reviews

It makes me wonder who edits reviews because they actually instruct not to do that.  Also Q has no system for stopping anyone from posting a review - never a verified buyer process.

Re: Customer Product Reviews

I agree with you, but it is never going to change, unless Q puts one or more full time staff people on editing the reviews.

Some people just don't understand what a "review" is or how to write a helpful one.

Theoretically, the reason it takes *days* for a review to show up is because they're all vetted. We all read on the forums about people whose reviews don't get posted. So how DO the many, many reviews from people who clearly don't have the product yet, didn't buy it, or are full of comments that SHOULD get the review rejected, make it through? Staff asleep? 5-star or 4-star review so QVC tells the staff to let it through? If they have standards for the reviews, the reviews are being vetted, AND customers are reporting inappropriate reviews, what gives?

Re: Customer Product Reviews

I used to post a review on the product page practically every time I received a product. I even earned some kind of oddball ranking for that. But since I've been on the boards, I rarely write a review except on the boards. Got tired of the non-buyers being able to post and just said the heck with it. The women who are on the fashion boards give much better advice than the reviews themselves, anyway.

@hopi

I don't know about that ..... I once tried to review an item I had bought elsewhere because it was so great, and QVC rejected my review because I hadn't bought it from them.

@Tinkrbl44

Bought a Lucky handbag on line and Q had it also but for more money - I loved the bag and gave it a 5 star and they printed it.

@Zita  Thank you that was exactly what I wanted to say too.  If I don't know your size it doesn't help me that you couldn't get it past your head or that it was two sizes too large.  QVC needs to have better rules for reviews.

Re: Customer Product Reviews

Some people just don't have the communication skills necessary to write a good review.  We have to work with what we've got.

I always try to include details that I would want to know if I was contemplating a purchase of the item but I won't do the height/weight thing.  I don't see it as being helpful because it totally depends on how it's distributed.
