It's not an issue I lose sleep over but why do posters respond to a simple question with nothing to do with the topic???🤔
I'm not talking about off topic.
Example:: Fun thread about The Golden Girls. The question is Which one do you identify with?
Answers: I never watched. I never thought it was funny. I can't stand that show.
Why bother to post?🤔🙄
Or a thread with a question about cats. Answer: I don't own a cat.🙄
Nobody cares.🤣
@Cakers3 Ha ha! Me and the Golden Girls DID bomb. I just don't get it. I loved them. All of them. But as it turns out....more then half of the replies were negative towards the show. How can that beeeee?

@cody2 I couldn't believe that Golden Girls thread! The Golden Girls was one of the funniest shows on air. I loved them all, especially Blanche! The only reason I didn't respond to your thread was because it took such a negative turn. Who'd have thunk it?!! Plus, I really can't figure out who I'm the most like. haha
It's a shame that happened to your thread. It was a fun idea and could have been a fun topic. You just never know what you're going to get around here.

@GingerHead , agreed, it's not annoying to me either. I rather admire those with the energy and thoughtfulness to do so!
I don't think I have especially high standards for what I see in terms of online etiquette. What's most important to me- is there an underlying basic respect for other people posting?
Not much annoys me, except for rudeness, chronic rule-breaking, or the occasional cruelty that occurs. Once I've seen someone gratuitously mocking and personally attacking others for having a different take or world view, that's the end for me. Not in the least interested after that.

My preference would be one thank you, or hearting those who responded in a positive way. My exception would be if I asked for advice (which is fairly often), and I found some suggestion that helped me resolve an issue. Then I would quote the response, and tell them how it turned out for me.

I couldn't agree more with everything you said. ![]()
