I've been on many cruises. Alaska, Islands, Europe.

The last cruise was with friends on a Tauck Tour riverboat cruise to Holland, Amsterdam, Brussels, etc.  through locks sometimes.
It was the easiest cruise and all tours were included.
The tulips were beautiful and food delicious.

That was the last cruise I'll ever take. Probably the last trip and I love to travel. But with the pandemic even if there's a vaccine I won't go.

@1Snickers  The River Boat cruises in Europe are the only type of cruise I liked. Did not like any of the big ones to the Caribbean.

The question isn't would you like to go cruising. The question is would you like to get stuck on board a ship with a Covid outbreak.

And all the rebellious "freedom fighters" who refuse to be told what to do would hate life onboard a cruise ship right now. There are loads of rules you have to follow or you get thrown off the ship. Any tantrums would find you offloaded at the next port that would take you.

When you’re accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression.

My family enjoys cruising but we aren't booking for quite some time.  Cruising masked is most UNAPPEALINGl

My last cruise was about 10 years ago.  Flew to Honolulu and then cruised the islands.  It was a great way to see the Hawaiian islands.

I was supposed to cruise the Greek islands this past April - chaperoning a high school trip.

But in this current climate, and going forward, I think I'll hold off for a while.

Always seems when people post what "others" like to do it seems it becomes "judgmental" OR something they'd never do🤔-- always leads to "covid" related comments!

I have seen posts regarding planning weddings, graduations, family get together, Disney, Thanksgiving dinner, traveling, etc. -- all goes the "same direction"🙄.  I don't think these people are talking about now but perhaps in the near future.

I love to cruise -- sometimes I go alone (which i prefer) or with friends.  IMO they are relaxing, beaches every stop, food OK (not why I go), meet many nice people ...

To me it's 10-15 days of total relaxation.  No clocks, no plans, no everyday worries🙂.

I had a cruise to the Panama canal scheduled for late November & I'm sad it's cancelled.  I've had trips and flights cancelled but as soon as it's safe again I will certainly go🤞🏻🙂

I was on a 2 week cruise when the Noro virus broke out.  The cruise line had already been 2 days in when it was announced.  Most who were infected were the staff.

I have to say the staff did more sanitizing and cleaning to keep everyone safe.  Yes, some ports were cancelled but still enjoyable.  We were served vs getting our own food, buffet was limited,  rooms were cleaned and more! Actually, it wasn't bad and entertainment continued, drinks were served in plastic, utensils were sealed, -- every precaution was taken.

To my knowledge only a handful of passengers became ill (older ones) but it was a wonderful experience (Holland America).

All in all I feel cruising will be forever changed --  That's a good thing!!  Although, I can't wait to get aboard again ...🛳🛳

@mac116

The worse cruise I've ever taken is the Regal Princess.

Staff horrible, food crappy and more -- they shut all the specialty restaurants & pools down daily for a big group of gamblers.  They were "high rollers" and were catered to...big $$$ in their casinos.

It seemed the other passengers didn't matter!  The travel agent never disclosed 70% of the passengers were young kids, highrollers and entertainment geared for them.

The 2nd week was another large convention of people.  Same thing🤷‍♀️.

The ship i think held 3,300 passengers.

Since I live near Tampa once the cruises start again I'll have my bag ready to go...I took a Royal Carribean 7 day for $375.  I stayed in interior room but upgraded to balcony once onboard for $100. Great time!!! I love when they're "under booked" can get great prices🙂

I am not a “ cruise” person. Have been a few times and could not wait to get home. Am not a gambler or drinker, and that seemed to be the only thing to do while on the ship. Public restrooms? They are definitely petri dishes.

Viking, the best line around.   Been on quite a few lines and found Viking, small, all ages but no children allowed.  Food is amazing.  We are booked for end of Jan. 2021 to Panama Canal.  Hope it goes, have not received any word yet.

I also want to do a cruise through the Panama Canal. My Grandfather was an Engineer and he worked on the Panama Canal. He even went down to Panama to check on the progress.

Please keep me posted about your cruise.

Cruising? That ain't what I think of when I see that word. Back in the '50's-60's my "Cruisin" was on certain streets in my city proudly showing off my decked out cars, especially my brand new ones.

I worked at a Drive-in restaurant and that's where the under 21 guys tried to impress the girls with their "wheels". Did it work? Oh he!! yeh it did. As the Bunkers intro song says: " Those Were the Days(nights really).

I can't fly and I can't swim so I prefer my feet to be on solid earth. Now if there is an event I really want to see over 1,000 miles away? I have been known to fly. A Cruise Line? Too slow, no chance.

As for the ***** virus? If there is something I really want to see or do? It is just another risk of living my life I will add to the many others.
