I love doing crossowrds.  Have been getting Dell crossword books from Amazon.  Hadn't thought about doing them online.

I keep some my phone and ipad.  So handy for putting in your purse.  The app is by Redstone.  If you have it loaded and then turn off wifi, no ads.  Nice for plane trips too.

I have been using Arkadium dot com free puzzles. So far it is still working with my ad blocker on. There are over twenty free crosswords on that site.  I have marked it as a favorite in my browser.

Me too, @kare29. They're great!

@beach-mom, Arkadium is free, & you can sign up, create a nic, and see how to do as compared to others.

The two that I do are:

Best Daily American Crossword & Daily Crossword, the latter which is a quicker puzzle.

Also, sign up for the online Boston Globe. They have a daily online puzzle, and their Sunday puzzles are well known & much loved.

Be aware: Take advantage of their "6 months for $1" promo, then cancel when the 6 months is nearly up.

Thery'll call you & beg you to stay.

I just renewed this morning for another 6 months for $1.00!

Enjoy.

@beach-mom My favorite is the weekly crossword from New York Magazine by Matt Gaffney. If you Google "New York Magazine crossword", you will land on a page of games. Scroll down and you'll see the crossword, as well as lots of other games.

If you like the Gaffney crosswords, click on his name and you will see his latest, plus years of his previous weekly crosswords are available. And you can opt to have his latest weekly crossword sent to your email. All free so far.
