And agree some do invite the criticism.......That calls to mind a host that made a remark about cats and when cat lovers objected on her Facebook Page she turned it to an even bigger fiasco by defending the remark and it turned into a gigantic nightmare. The Facebook comments were finally deleted. The host could have handled it differently, she could have nipped it in the bud by apologizing and a nice gesture would have been to make a small donation to a feline rescue organization but instead she took the discussion further down hill and created animosity towards herself......
Or what about a friend of mine asked a host why QVC didn't show shortsleeve/sleeveless tops in the summer like she wears instead of clothes more suited for winter.....and in response she got a snotty remark back, which later the host deleted....but it left that customer with a bad feeling towards the host, all the host had to say was I'll pass your suggestion on.
Or the vendor that has seen the comments that a lot of viewers object to the dancing and carrying on.....but she seems to do it anyway, but interesting that she changed her music because as the viewers pointed out it sounded like it along with the dancing seemed liked it belonged in a men's club.....
Yes I agree some remarks are out of line, those have no place in the Forums, but constructive crticism and feedback shouldn't be silenced if something annoys you to point where you can't watch anything the host presents, the host impacts QVC's sales!!! and afterall QVC exists to sell merchandise.....In most jobs you get critiqued, and when you have a job that is in the public eye the public responds, most of the host have a TV background and know this.......And since the host/vendors are urged to share their personal lives and customers are urged to be their BFFs it just opens the door to be critiqued and for remarks both bad and good..
USE THE EXISTING TOOLS--.Under QVC's Community Guidelines unkind comments are not permitted so you can always click REPORT INAPPROPRIATE if something is particularly offensive......I've used that method myself when someone posted particularly ugly and hateful comments about a host's lifestyle....totally inappropriate and the Mods removed the thread....

This is an excellent suggestion.
It's not always all about simply not responding, though. If someone starts a really ridiculous unpleasantly critical thread and no one posts in it, the ugly words are still there for all to see, and they should not be because they invariably violate forum Standards. The posts need to be gone. If no one responds at all in any way, the greater the likelihood the ugliness will stay visible for quite a while.
So why not just report it and also not respond?????????????????????????

Yep it sure can!

I've snarked, I've responded on threads I knew were not in compliance with standards and I've gotten my fair share of comments poofed.
I've never started a host/vendor bash thread nor have I joined in on an existing one.
I guess I understand why people love them so much. The same mindset as enjoying cruel tabloid news, I suppose. It's just nothing I find enjoyable.
Sorry, same rules apply all around. People that don't want nary a discouraging word on the Forums sometimes say worse things about others than what has been written about the hosts/vendors. Some take that banner up to like that's their own personal crusade and all they do is escalate the situation!. People can state their difference of opinion in an intelligent manner, but some just have to get that little dig, condescending comment and snark back at that poster....to me bashing another poster is just as bad as criticizing a host/vendor. If a post is going to upset you why bother to read it or respond....ignore it, move on or report it if its against the guidelines! And PLEASE people know how to CHANGE THE CHANNEL!

I am so sick and tired of seeing the nit-picking remarks about those who are just doing their respective jobs.
The products are fair game, but, please, let's give the personal attacks a rest.
Comments like that accomplish nothing but there are many people who have nothing better to do, who think negatively about most everything in their lives and they have no idea how to think or act any other way. No suggestion or rules will change that. Best to simply ignore the comments.

Thanks for the scold.
I don't take up any crusades on the bash threads. They don't upset me. I find the petty complaints about personal appearance childish. I don't watch presentations with the intent of finding something to rush here and complain about.
If you find this condescending, that's too bad. I understand that you and many others derive pleasure in the complaining. I don't. Simple as that.

@SunValley wrote:I was glad to see that the posters who enjoyed the daily positive thread have found a way to continue their friendship with their new version. Many threads about happy events fizzle out from reader apathy or transition into posters trading barbs. The threads that get immediate traction and action on the boards are the ones that criticize hosts and vendors for their appearance or opinion expressed. For some reason the things that irritate people are more popular to hash over than the pleasant things, and along with the criticism, these threads occasionally produce some humorous and witty exchanges. The mods do a pretty good job of weeding out the really nasty ones. Before the guidelines were tightened and the mods became more visible, these boards could set your hair on fire. Some of the comments about hosts and vendors were truly horrid.
JMHO truly repulsive comments, ugly stories about the hosts personal life which are untrue, trolls that post over the top threads to incite, these have no place on the Forums.....these people should be permanently banned...
But some topics which look to be volatile actually started out as good discussions (the Jon Benet Thread that was deleted)....there were just good opinions with varying differences all kept on an intelligent level, even though some did not agree with various "theories"....yet a couple posters had to derail it by antagonizing and making fun of those giving an opinion on the entire subject --until the post got poofed......why did that person even bother to take the time to make their inane remarks......just move on, don't open it and go to another thread---SHEESH!!!

The reality is often that there needs to be more than one post in a thread for the moderators to consider things inappropriate, i.e. depending upon the moderator they seem to need "several" inappropriate posts in order to take a closer look and/or delete. It depends on the moderator and how much time they have to devote to reading reported posts on that shift.

As a customer when I see a retailer go downhill (and their financial reports prove it) I think I have the right to leave appropriate feedback (repetitive products/programming) if you call that petty complaining so be it.(and yes for the record I turn the channel and don't watch) I am just trying to make a once viable shopping retailer an option again.
I never commented on the size of host's ears, body shape, or fingernails not being done, or whether someone is or isn't pregnant etc etc I agree that kind of stuff is inappropriate and childish, and recent unkind comments about a host's spouse's passing were unkind and downright mean.
There are different types of complaining.........and some may just point it in a different direction....
