Re: Credit Cards and updating Income

I also see that alot with some of my cards.  Also, they ask for my cell phone number.  I really don't do apps and I don't need the whole world to know my #.   Having the same one for almost 27 years, I've still only given it to a small handful of GOOD friends, the husband, and my father.

The good thing with these is that, so far anyway, I've just been able to click through them and continue on to pay or whatever I'm there for.  Smiley Happy

I do worry that some of this stuff will become a requirement and I'll deal with that when the time comes.   The problem is that if you give them more of your private info they do more things with it, including sharing it.  I don't need that.   If you want to pay my bills you can share my info.  Otherwise, leave me alone.

Re: Credit Cards and updating Income

I donr have any credit cards bur do have a debit card. Everytime I log into my bank to check balance it asks me to do this. I ignore it too. It says so they can provide you with what services they offer.

I never heard of something like that.  Our line of credit is periodically increased without asking us but no credit card company has ever asked for our income.  If they did, I would ignore the request.

I get those emails too. I am suspicious by nature, I am okay with my limits on my cards, I don't need them to be increased.

Re: Credit Cards and updating Income

I don't like it either. Every single time I log on to pay my bills you see those annoying income questions.

On another subject. I have a card for a store where I receive a discount everytime I purchase. Which by the way I rarely use. I check my mail and they have sent me a whole different  additional card Visa or Mastecard, I can't remember.

Me: I want to cancel this card that you have sent me. I did not request it.

Merchant: Well we thought you might want this card.

Me: Well I do not.

Merchant: Well if someone sent me a card without asking I would want to use it. (By the way. I wanted to snatch the representative though the phone for that comment, but I kept my cool)

Merchant: Are you sure you do not want it.

Me: Nope I do not want the card nor have I requested this. (Insert Eye roll)

Merchant: Well, if I cancel this card, if you ask for it later you might not get it.

Me: (Starting to loose patience) CANCEL THE CARD.

Merchant: OK, let me cancel it out.

Me: Thank you.

Ugghhh... WTH???

Everyone,

So what do you do when they will not allow you to see your account. This is angering me. I also pay my account in full once a month. I like to use one card and I have a back up but it is easy for me to get another. I thought I would just change but if everyone is doing it then what?

You should have an option to skip this question or answer later.

@icezeus, I did not have a problem yesterday or today. I was able to move to my account. I check pretty much everyday. A day or so before that it would not allow me to proceed. I logged out then went back in later and proceeded to my account. It is irritating me because I have been doing business with them for at least 20 years.
