Re: Cream Cheese Shortage, What’s Next

[ Edited ]

How about this crazy "shortage"...

1/2 & 1/2 creamer

I've checked every store for any brand for the past 2 weeks.  None🤷‍♀️

And I don't like flavored creamers they didn't have plain coffee mate, either.

I keep checking ... guess another wierd shortage item.

(Cream cheese fully stocked)

And glad I don't have kitties now because the cat food shelves have been "empty" for months and mine didn't eat "dry" food.

Re: Cream Cheese Shortage, What’s Next

I have plenty of cream cheese in my fridge.

I buy it at Sam's Club where it is sold in a multi pack.  I make  pumpkin rolls for Christmas and freeze  some for later.

The shortage of cream cheese was projected so I stocked up.

@nekodaisy   I have noticed that onion rings are missing.  I normally keep a few bags in my freezer, but I used them and can't any of any brand.

Re: Cream Cheese Shortage, What’s Next

Wow. This is America! We should never have to experience a shortage of anything, ever. A New York deli shop that sells bagels and cream cheese relies on supplies to stay in business! Small businesses are suffering the most in this supply chain shortage we are all experiencing. Hopefully, when the extra government money ends on December 31st, more workers will get back to work, driving our supplies around this country. Drivers are the number one job in the U.S. and we need them!

We need to make everything we want and need here in the U.S. Most importantly, our food supplies, medicines, PPE.

We need to hold the country accountable that brought our nation and world to this current situation. The world needs to stand together and cancel all debt to the country where all this began as retribution for this economic nightmare.

Have a wonderful Christmas season everyone!

@Actsmart What extra government money are you even talking about?

There is no "extra government money". And there is nothing special about America in this regard, perhaps we are simply spoiled and entitled.

There's a bagel place I go to all the time.  In addtion to making bagels (kettle boiled) they market (don't know if they make it) their cream cheese all the time. Has their name on it.  I was thinking of going tomorrow.  Curious if they will be there.

@homedecor1   If you can find heavy cream, you can make your own 1/2 and 1/2 by mixing it with milk.

My DH would go nuts he couldn't get his 1/2 and 1/2.  I have mixed my own over the years.

I refuse to believe there isn’t some sort of spread New Yorkers could enjoy on a bagel. Butter? Nutella? Egg salad? Orange marmalade?

No shortage of cream cheese here in So. Maine. Had no problem getting it at our local grocery store for my baking needs. Our local bagel/ muffin shop still has my favorite bagel spread available too. No problem.
