Neither.  "Pecans" doesn't have "pee" in it.  Smiley Happy

Crayons. I've never heard an alternate pronunciation.

@AKgirl2  I once said pee-cans as a child, reading the label of a package of Pecan Sandies cookies.  My mom laughed & said it was "puh-cahns"

For some reason I recall saying they were "color cray-ons" when I was young.  I've never heard crans.   I've also said Pe-kons'".  And when I hear someone use the slangy, supposedly Southern, pronounciation of pie, I want to jump through the screen and strangle them.  Names withheld.

my parents were European, so no pronunciation correction offered there...maybe it's an east coast thing, but my friends all pronounce it pee-cans as well...

I say Cray on. I was watching a video about adult coloring books and the woman kept saying, " I just use my colors". I had no idea she was talking about crayons. Colors are red, green, blue etc. to me, not an art supply.

They were both used when I was a kid and I still catch myself using either one.

cray-ons for me!  As a teacher, I had a little fella one time refer to his by the brand.  With his limited communication, he did say "Rose Art" and that stood for any color he wanted at that time.Heart
