Turned out that wasn't a fake story; he took over his grandparents' bakery in San Francisco. He and my husband occasionally post on FB.
Cody (see my avatar) is the best of all the dogs we've ever had. And yes, I do say that about all of them. :-)
(Well, there was that poor, addled Cocker, bless his little heart)
I'm glad this worked out for you and no one is saying that everyting on CL is bad.
However, many people getting rid of their dogs on Craig's List is disturbing to say the least. That is a real problem. Many of the dogs are stolen or not so nice people get dogs from somewhere like a pound or rescue group and turn around and sell them for nefarious purposes on Craigs List.
@Lipstickdiva, no doubt.
We found Cody on CL nine years ago. We checked out the young man very carefully and visited his home to see Cody before making a decision. He wasn't selling Cody; in fact, he made sure that we took her bed and food when he brought her to our house.
Also a few years ago, we had good luck selling a refrigerated wine cabinet when we were moving to our current house. It's the kind of thing that you really don't want to ship. Someone locally came and picked it up.

Went to breakfast on Sunday and when he came back the apartment was empty!!! He called the police and they walked over to the neighbors..He said the place had been vacant for 4 or 5 months. The man that rented him the apt was not who owned the house . He was out 2 months security, a months rent, and everything he owned,,,,including his clothes. Its a terrible world out there.
How terrible @meem120! I do not trust Craig's list.
