I was just watching the show Live PD: Police Patrol on A&E

and they were showing them trying to capture a loose cow. They posted for viewers that about 20 people are killed every year from a cow attack and that it was more dangerous than a Shark !  I was very surprised so I looked it up and this is what I found. Stay safe people !! Woman LOL

Why Cows Can Be Dangerous:
  • Protective Nature:
Cows, especially mothers with calves, can become fiercely protective and aggressive.

  •
  • Stress and Fear:
Cows can become agitated and unpredictable when stressed, frightened, or threatened.

  •

  • Bulls:
Bulls are particularly prone to aggression, especially during mating season or when they feel threatened.

  •
  • Stampedes:
Cows can become spooked and stampede, potentially injuring or killing anyone in their path.

This is true. My friend's adult son sustained a serious injury when their bull charged and gored him. Farming is definitely dangerous work with sometimes unpredictable animals.

Good to know for whenever I pull over on the side of the road and decide to wonder through  a cow pasture.

More so when aggravated I bet.

People at the zoo jumping over wired enclosures to pet the tiger. Not paying attention to the warning signs.

Going into the gorilla habitat.   "Duh, I don't know why I'm suddenly missing an arm".

In general, cows are perfectly fine.  Just look at the reasons given for when they become dangerous.  The policemen trying to corral or encourage the cow to go home stresses it.  Most wild animals are fiercely protective of their young.

There are some breeds that are meaner than others.  Black Angus are particularly difficult.

My grandparents' milk cows really couldn't care less that I was walking through the pasture from the barn to the house.  I was afraid of them, but there was no need to be if I left them alone to their grazing.

Watch some Dr. Pol and see how dangerous they can become when stressed.

I thought everybody knew bulls were dangerous.

@brandiwine It isn't just Wild  animals that are dangerous as any large domesticated animal can be dangerous whether they mean to be or not.  Our cows were extremely gentle, but don't get between two cows having a head sling going on.  Horses can knock you down just turning suddenly or lunging forward.  Then you add the situation of a stressed animal and all bets are off.  It pays to be aware of the risks of dealing with any large animal.  (And I am just talking about the large ones here).

If my dog doesn't like you, neither do I.
