Count Your Blessings - Week of May 27

Starting a new week again! Thank you for your particiapation on this thread. Feel free to add Inspirations and prayers as you're led to and praying for one another is what this is about too, along with posting our blessings - blessings which we mostly take for granted, blessings we just don't notice, so we make a point to take notice and give God our thanks and praise for the blessings He gives us. I'm so blessed to have my husband and daughters, my dog, Sammy, who has arthritis, but with his medicine (liquid that my husband gives him) he seems to be getting better, and does walk on his sore leg now, but with a limp, before he just kept his leg up and didn't use it at all. He's 8 - going on 9 in August. I'm so blessed to have my Glory of God list which I've been sending out daily for 12 years, and with that list I can provide inspirations here, and blessed that I have Nadine who lives in Finland who sends me the inspirations etc. for my list - I call her my Secretary! You all are in my prayers - and now here are the inspirations and prayers for tomorrow:

Live today so that you will make life better for those around you. You will
end up making your life better too. Lord, You teach that it is in giving that
I receive. May I always have a generous spirit.

Scripture for the day:

"Now, discipline always seems painful rather than pleasant at the time, but
later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been
trained by it.
Therefore lift your drooping hands and strengthen your weak knees, and make
straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of
joint, but rather be healed." ~Hebrews 12:11-13

Meditation for the day:

I can learn to accept self-discipline. I can try not to yield one point
that I have already won. I need not let myself go in resentments, hates,
fears, pride, lust or gossip. Even if my self-discipline keeps me separated
from some people who are without discipline, nevertheless I can carry on. I
may have different ways and a different standard of living than some others.
I may be actuated by different motives than some people. But I can try to
live the way I believe God wants me to live, no matter what others say.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may be an example to others of a better way of living. I pray
that I may carry on in spite of hindrances and setbacks.

Blessed Mother

"I have placed you in the care of my holy Mother, as a deposit in trust, so that she may fashion you according to my pattern."
Jesus to St. Margaret Mary Alocoque

For Reflection:
In what way do Jesus' words to St. Margaret Mary speak to the wonderful cooperation between Mother and Son in the work of a soul? If Jesus trusts His mother in such a way, should I not trust her, too?

Dear Lord ~

Make me remember, when the world seems cold and dreary and I know not where to turn for comfort,

that there is one spot bright and cheerful ~ The Sanctuary.

When I am in desolation of spirit, when all who are dear to me have passed away like summer flowers and none are left to love me and care for me, whisper to my troubled soul that there is One Friend who dies not ~ one whose love never changes ~ Jesus on the altar.

When sorrows thicken and crush me with their burden, when I look in vain for comfort, let me remember your words :

" Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will refresh you. "

Your friendship Dear Lord henceforth shall be the dearest treasure I possess.

It shall be my consolation, when all who hold a place in my heart are gone from this earth !

With Your friendship, the world shall never ne dreary and life never without charm.

Would that I could realize the pure happiness of possessing Your sympathy and compassion.

Amen
