Cost of returning items

I returned a couple of tops last week and noticed on my credit card bill I was only getting $9/$10 credited to my bill. I returned two items together and put the paid return sticker on the package and it looks like even though it's shipping for say $7 they are deducting the $7 from each item so sending your items back together isn't saving you anything.

Will think twice about this next time I'm interested in ordering.
