???    So what?   Gloria is an advocate for women .... why wouldn't  she make a statement?

because she drags out all these women and makes it about HER not them

I disagree. Sometimes her personality can be grating, so I understand why some people may not like her. But I've never seen her make it all about her.  She answers questions that are directed toward her, and she guides her clients as they answer questions.  That's what all attorneys do, and it's particularly tough when the client is emotional and the crime is abuse.  So she may talk a lot, but it's not about her.  It's about the justice that she's seeking, and that's her job.

She's also not "dragging out" random women from the woodwork for no reason.  These are women who were abused, and willing to speak.  Her role is to help them, and she does a great job in that regard.  Every time women speak up for other women it's a victory for us all.

I think yelling out profanity toward the prosecutor would be considered contempt.  Odd that the judge ignored it.

I look at Mrs. Cosby as a prisoner of war, educated or not, she did not have an easy life with Bill. Also, there were tragedies with their children and that has got to take a toll on her. IMO Mrs. Cosby looks mentally ill and depressed even through the smiles. I think Bill's punishment came much too late, the women should have come forward years ago or better yet, when this happened.

Women DID come forward.  They were either ignored or not taken seriously or shamed/blamed, and I know of at least two women whose careers hit a dead-end as a direct result of speaking up against Cosby.  Times were different back then, and it was completely expected that powerful men could get away with pretty much anything.  It was tolerated in a "boys will be boys" way.  Women had no voice then, and no recourse.

Shaming victims and blaming them is inappropriate, IMO.  Unless you've worked in that kind of environment, you can't understand the power of a man like Cosby.  It took tremendous courage to speak up, and it did no good, so I don't blame others for not even trying since they knew full well it would likely lead to either being called a liar or sullying their own reputations.

I do wonder...how much she knew all along...some have said it happened while she was at home when it happened in THEIR home? Her smile going into court is very strange.

Well what do you expect her to do? A flamenco dance? She's in a horrible, embarassing position and I suspect she's trying to make the best of it.

She should have left him decades ago.  In my view, she was an enabler.  She knew what was going on, and looked the other way.  I will never understand how one woman could do that to another.  This is way beyond an open marriage, where extramarital affairs would be okay with a wife.  By saying nothing, she was complicit.

(Back in those days, I saw her many times as she stood there pretending not to notice the lewd remarks he made to women passing by.  Not just normal cat calls and whistling, and things that some men did back then.  He used disgusting language, naming women's body parts, what he wanted to do to them, etc.  He knew he could say and do anything, and that's exactly what he did.  He's always been a rude and disgusting man.  I don't feel a bit sorry for her.  She chose to spend her life with him.  I don't think any posters here would have made that same choice.)

I'm giddy about the news. So glad this man who has pulled the wool over people's eyes has finally been caught. I heard it costs 30000 a year to house him in jail?  Why not just electrocute him? Is that legal in Pennsylavnia ?

@Reever, are you for real? Seriously.  Or are you just yanking our chains with your posts, like the other one in which you have already decided that Brokaw is guilty?

You might consider taking a course on the basics of our legal system.

In thinking about this further I wondering how he'll feel getting drugged and raped in prison? If he ends up there I'm sure he'll get his chance. Couldn't happen to a better guy. But then there's Harvey Weinstein too!

Ha, that dang karma bus, he must be swearing at it now!

Does anybody remember how he always loved the Penn Relays?  There were a few episodes about it in his show.

Well, I think it ironic that he should have been found guilty on the eve of this year's Penn Relays games.  They started Friday and are going through Sunday.

I wonder if he was sure that he would be found not guilty and had special seats reserved for him to celebrate his victory?

@puttypiesmom....I agree...However, I'm also thinking that the judge may have a surprise in store for him when it comes time for sentencing, so that outburst may just come back to haunt him.
