I have read most of this thread. I see that some have problems when they see grammatical errors in others posts. Yeah, this might be an issue with you, and that's just who you are. We are all different in so many ways. And that is not necessarily a bad thing either.

I have read on here since 2007, and I have yet to not be able to figure out what someone was trying to say. Not all posts are perfect, but it doesn't really bother me. But that's just me.

The other day I responded to a post about shoes. In my post I said that when I wore my Birki's, and it got cold, I just added sox! I saw it, and went back and changed it to socks. LOL I think that anyone who read it knew what I meant. Guess I was in Dr. Seuss mode that day.

I come here to hang out, and just be me. If my incorrect grammar bothers someone, I hope that they can just overlook my errors. Or if it drives them crazy, they can just put me on ignore. I'm just here to have a little interaction with others.

I had to use spell check by the way, but I know some will correct me if I missed something,lol.

Well alright I guess I will answer my own question......I really prefer seeing words spelled right, it just looks better and if a person is capable of doing it right, they should,(I think).... it makes the poster look as if they don't know how to spell and don't care to learn.....but I would never correct someone unless it is a poster I joke around with.......

also I do not get the "well it's only a message board, it's not like it is important" theory .....I feel like whatever people do in one place, they will do in another, if people do not care to use correct spelling here, are they really going to think about it at another place? or will they out of habit not think about what they are doing? Why not make it a habit to do it right all the time? Is that a bad thing?

Any other opinions?

There's an elephant in the middle of the room, so I have to ask... If you are a stickler about spelling, how can you possibly accept your own abominable punctuation and lack of capitalization?

I suppose because misspelled words jump out at me and the other does not......if you would like to correct me fell free to do so.

I'd be here half an hour correcting you. But I will offer one helpful hint. It's rude to correct someone's spelling, especially in public. It's also shocking since you make so many errors of your own.

This reminds me of something I posted not too long ago that drives the point home.

An English professor wrote these words "Woman without her man is nothing" on the blackboard and directed his students to punctuate it correctly.

The man wrote: "Woman, without her man, is nothing".

The woman wrote: "Woman! Without her, man is nothing.

That's another good one!

A BB is not the place to correct someone's grammar and spelling, especially since many of us deal with an auto correct that is sometimes incorrect!

I notice these days so many people ""hate"" this and ""hate"" that and the least little things upset them. What ever happened to not sweating the small stuff or hang loose?

I haven't read the other posts yet. I, personally, like to be corrected, as long as it's not in a mean way. For instance, I very often write: 'whoever/whomever' or 'awhile/a while' , etc., etc. when posting. I really would like someone to let me know which one to use in each particular instance.
