@BalletBabe wrote:@chickenbutt Do you believe on facebook someone asked me what my Mothers maiden name was? Just last week. I said sorry I do not give information out like that online.
I can sure understand why....with a married last name of "BUTT" and a first name Chicken, they wanted to know if your mother was the "butt end" of the jokes or not?
LOL

It's no one's business and I am suspect of people who want to know this kind of thing about people they don't know.
To the person who thinks the info on QVC is private: As for this info being private to QVC, have you never heard of hacking? Look at all the big businesses that have been hacked.
If it could happen to them, it could happen here. Better safe than sorry!
Nope, it's no one's business what hand I use, what color my eyes are, or anything else
And I hope that people are aware that QVC posts ARE out there on the internet and come up in searches.

Just boggles the mind. Why post?
Wow, that is mind-boggling. Perhaps, mostly that the person actually admitted it is more boggling than anything.
I think we all know that this happens - here and everywhere. I just don't get how people can keep up with their lies. They must have 'lie journals'. I'd be messing up all over the place if I had to keep up with lies I've told. If somebody doesn't believe something I say - just know that I don't say it unless it's true because I would be so humiliated if I got caught in a lie! Truly! Now that I have no memory, it would be just awful. I can't even imagine it.
I guess the 'why post' is that people like that need attention so bad and they don't have anything to contribute so they make up stories that get them that attention. I can think of a couple here (not on this thread - on this board overall).
I think this is true, but still sad to want attention so desperately.
Oh, I so agree with you. It is sad. What almost bothers me more, though, is that a lot of people believe the stories. Most boards where I've spent time over the years, and still do, have more internet-experienced people and you just can't pull the wool over their eyes as easily as here.
Most of the time I just let it go and don't say anything...most of the time. But it's kind of like the attention that trolls are given here. If people wouldn't respond, in ANY way at all, they would go away and find greener pastures elsewhere. But, they get what they seek here so they keep on comin'.

Yes pet names - good idea not to use them at all as passwords-
What I wish is; that the more seasoned members here could some how point out some of the peculiarities they see for some of us who may not read as much or put it all together.

I don't recall what the topic was, but there were my words on the Internet.
Absolutely. All the time.

@cherry wrote:There was even one asking if you carried a balance on your credit card. Who needs to know that, or who would even care?
Next question: What is your credit score?
What category is your yearly income?

How about - what are the last four digits of your SSN? Just the last four, that will be ok.

I swear, @chickenbutt, I was too! There probably has been one and we've forgotten it.
I was just shocked at how many people actually gave out that info!
Sure, I play some of it but I have a line that I tend to follow.
One question on one of my accounts is 'what is your favorite hobby'. Well, you just KNOW that one has been asked here.
I tend to think about stuff like 'what are security questions that my accounts ask to keep me safer' and those are things I don't discuss.
EXACTLY, @chickenbutt! The more recent questions have been much more geared to security question info. It's gotten really obvious.

I just checked to see if this post is now on the Internet, and it is. I put the first sentence from my very first post related to this thread in the search field, and voila, up came this thread.
