QVC seems to want to make everyone's personal business a public event. Courtney's wedding became a QVC public event with every detail being posted on-line. Amy's first pregnancy was pretty public and then there was Angel's wedding as well.

QVC is doing this to try and make viewers feel they are part of "the family." Let's not forget the on air wedding proposal to Shawn years ago and more recently someone came to visit Kerstin and showed up in the studio and she went bonkers.

It doesn't surprise me that this news was made a part of QVC's on air presentation but I personally find it a little odd. What's next? Are we going to have a host take a pregnancy test and show the results live on air?

MBR has shared some details of her childrens' lives but she has shared what she wanted to share. She hasn't shared every aspect and every moment. Some things are private family matters. How connected some viewers feel to the hosts and their family is just bizarre to me.

Whatever works for them is their business. I just know for me, I wouldn't want to be told this kind of news while I was at work, live on air, with hundreds of thousands of people watching me receive the news. I'm also one that cringes at public proposals.

Colleen Lopez is going to be a grandma. Nothing was done on air as far as the announcement. It was a personal family matter. HSN doesn't seem to have fallen into making everything their hosts do a public event.

Professionalism on QVC? Have you listened or looked at some of the hosts lately? Some have parts of their bodies hanging out at times. Why tell other people how they should live their lives? JMO.

I just don't think it was professional for a host's son to call in and "hijack" the QVC sales presentation. Maybe you think that's okay, but I don't. I wonder what QVC management thought of her son's stunt.

The son and QVC. The other host gave her a bib. Hint...that means other people knew.

Yeah obviously people had to have known. Whoever puts the calls through had to know it was coming. The call was set up beforehand so Eric could get through. Kathy handed MBR a little bib and when MBR asked Kerstin if she knew ahead of time, Kerstin said a little bit.

She came back out of retirement to make the announcement? I thought MB was gone being in her mid 60's. She's still working?

@RealQuiet. Mary Beth never retired. She didn't make the announcement. Her son called into QVC while she was on the air. Don't know what being in her mid sixties and still working has anything to do with anything. Don't most people?

Besides that, I don't believe MBR is even 60 yet let alone mid-60's.
