Well, my closet cleaning is progressing well today. Just taking a little break. I confessed that I just washed a tee shirt I have had for 30 years! With any luck I'll have it another 30 years. I just like wearing it. Any one else hoarding old clothes?

Now, another confession...I just turned 66 and I had my first manicure ever. I have had tons on pedicures...but never, ever a manicure. So I decided on a French manicure on the short square side, even though I hate the French, but that would be another topic for a new post. So does a French manicure date me? Do I look out of date? Next manicure should I try a color?

I don't see that style of manicure around here much any more, though I do see it on a couple of Q hosts from time to time. But I'm a proponent of do what pleases you! Sounds like you enjoyed your first manicure!!!

I wonder why it is called a French manicure. When I've been in France, I do not recall seeing this exaggerated look. I've noticed either plain polish or natural nails.

I have seen quite a few manicures where the nail bed is clear and the tip is a color...often red/burgundy.

I bet a French man would date you. That man will cure a lot of things I'm sure.

I like the French manicure, but I don't care for the squared off look. That's just my personal preference, however, so it really doesn't matter if somebody else likes it for them. Smiley Happy

When I was having my nails done I always went for either French manicure or a neutral/nude type of color. But then I'm not a red lipstick or red (read - bright) nails type of girl anyway. I did a kind of rounded nail - no squared-off ones and no pointy ones.

Moral of the story - do/wear what YOU like. Nothing else really matters.
