@Poodlepet2 I think we are too hard on our flaws and imperfections...we believe we have them disguised so when a compliment comes along we think it's because they don't know what is hidden.I guess that is a lack of self esteem,rather than the opposite.

I love giving them to anyone, and am appreciative of the unexpected kindness from someone.
But I do not - thankfully - live my life by receiving them, as some others do.

Great post. Just noticing someone with a smile or kind word helps get us out of our own heads and lets others know they're important. I work at a college. Often, I randomly ask a student -- how's your day going, are you having a good day? So far, no one has refused to reply to that statement. Twopeas - Dale Carnegie would love this post. Ha!
