WV counties vary; local schools opened after Labor Day last year and ended on June 3rd.  

Teacher daughter started work in mid August last year, and students last day was May 28th.   She prefers to get out before Memorial Day weekend.

@mormel20   School ended on June 9th and starts up again on August 16th,,,,then that year will end on June 8th..........This is for public schools in Broward County, which is the greater Ft Lauderdale area in Florida.  Most, but not all, private & parochial schools follow the same calendar.

NorCal (Sacramento area) -- last day of school was June 2. School starts again August 10, ends June 1, 2023.

In PA, school ended June 10th here, go back August 29th.

NY State

Most schools in our area start the day after Labor Day and end late June.

When researching by state, I was surprised Colorado requires only 160 days of school.  Some states do not have a minimum number of days.
