@ROMARY I thought of this photo when you asked if anyone remembered phone booths. This one had it all. Talk to someone, mail a letter, and catch a cab. All in one convenient location.

There are a few places where I have seen "indoor" phone booths.

Great picture!!! I remember in door phone booths.😃
@cheriere Train and bus stations; hotels and department stores and restaurants.
Believe it or not, there's still one pay phone in a gas station parking lot in my town. However, it's not the old fashioned indoor box style. I wish it were.😃❤️

There are a few rows of payphones left at BART stations across the bay area

@On It WOW!😍 What a nostalgic walk down memory lane just now!💝💝 I remember sometimes being out and about with my dear mother, and her searching for a booth and a dime to call my step-father, or a cab home.🥰 I actually enjoyed walking to the mailbox and felt so grown up.This generation has NO IDEA how good they have it!!!😁
THANKS for caring to share this feel good photo!❤

@SportyShorty07 As well as airports & casinos across the country. Payphones are not obsolete.
At some airports they look like this......
In some casinos, there are rows of phone against the wall near and/or next to the car garage exits & entrances.
And all prisons & jails have wall block pay phones......"You have a collect call from xxxx penitentiary/jail house. Do you accept?"

Yes, SandySparkles:
Kids are very lucky......all of their school questions and answers are right at their finger tips.
Long ago, we had to take public transportation to the main library's reference section......couldn't take out books to borrow....had to 'copy' everything by hand, and re-write everything in order to hand to our teacher.
And never mind 'taking notes'......I guess kids now-a-days can record teacher's lessons/lectures in the classroom.
I often tell grandkids how lucky they are.......

@ROMARY In college I had trouble "taking notes" in 2 of my classes because the professors talked to fast. My father mailed me a small reeled tape recorder to take to my classes.
I lied to the professors & told them I had hearing issues reason for the recorder. I was embarressed because no one else but me was having "taking notes" issues.
