This is a great shot of the Sandia Tram that rises from the valley floor up to 10,300 ft right on the edge of Albuquerque which you see below.

It makes a lovely summer evening to ride the tram to the summit at sunset, have dinner in the very nice, new restaurant, then ride down to the view of city lights.

Although I hate heights, I love riding the tram and, as in an airplane, have no feeling of being high or on a precipice.  I just don't want to be the guy that has to ride up on top of the car every morning to inspect the cables.

This is the longest aerial tram in the world.

We've taken the one in Palm Springs a couple of times.  It is quite a ride and not for those with a fear of heights.

@Kachina624  I have been on that tram and I loved it! Unfortunately the restaurant was under construction when I was there.  Hope to return to New Mexico and do it again.

I think it's absolutely gorgeous in the picture, however, I'm not sure I have the right stuff to get on the tram. Cat Surprised

I love that tram.  Unfortunately the last time I was atop Sandia was around 1995, and we ate at the High Finance (I have their menu here somewhere).

@kaydee50    That would be me.  The best I can do is the Incline in Pittsburgh.  Took the grandkids there last year.  One of them cried the whole time.  🤷🏻‍♀️

Re: Come Ride Our Tram

[ Edited ]

Oh, how I'd love to, Kachina, but I can't.  My old-age (actually began in my 40s) fear of heights prohibits me from taking this ride.

When I was 29, I took a tram car (or something similar) to the top of the Zugspitze in Germany.  I was fearless then, I suppose.

I have been on that tram so many times and always enjoyed it when we lived there. At sunset was the best time of all.  The view is breathtaking. If you have never been, I also highly recommend it.
We took all of our out-of-state visitors up to eat dinner there. The tram ride was always more impressive than the dinner. I know that restaurant is long gone now,  but it was a great way to spend an evening. There is a new restaurant now, so still a reward for taking the tram. Dinner and a show!
