No research facility is "buying" anything. PP is reimbursed for their costs. Period. For something to be sold a monetary value is placed on the item.

If I have a sweater that you want and you pay only the shipping and handling for that sweater, it was not sold to you. You received it at no cost other than what it cost me to purchase the container, take it to the PO, and mail it off.

It's along the same lines as organ donation. Profit is not allowed because organs/skin is not "for sale".

You may not want to believe red state attorney generals...but most people do. They still feel that the chief lawmakers in the state will objectively enforce the law.

Not to believe this is so - is sad.

Also, it would have to be a vast conspiracy if every AG in every state came to the same bogus conclusion.

There is truth and there is opinion. AGs follow the law, based on what they have discovered to be the truth.

He ws interviewed by Chris Cuomo on CNN in October and admitted that the "live, kicking fetus" was actually a stillbirth - a miscarriage of a pro-life woman. He said that it didn't matter though.

It is available online - his admission.

Also there were hearings that proved (independent film analysis) that not only were the released tapes highly edited, so too were the so called "unedited" versions. The filmmaker admitted that the "unedited" tapes were edited - but he said what was removed wasn't important and he refuses to release the true unedited version.

The coverage of the hearings, the court injunctions, etc. was pretty widely covered.

This discussion has gone from one thing to another.  The way I see it (which doesn't mean anything, just like what's discussed here is each person's perspective) is the Planned Parenthood problem could easily be solved (ie people who are religiously opposed to everything (don't want to get deleted, don't know rules) that could easily be set aside to another area separate from checkups, any other female issues.

It's my understanding that people who oppose Planned Parenthood do so for that one reason.  It could easily be funded independently (without government assistance) and I think this problem would be solved.

It's like everything else the government gets involved in, it's way, way too big and encompassing.  I don't know of any person who is opposed to a woman getting any kind of medical care except there are people who are opposed (not just for religious reasons) to that one part of it.  Separate it, seems simple to me. There seems to be enough people who don't have an issue with it, I think it could easily support itself.

As I stated earlier, people are fed up with feeling like they no longer have a voice.  It used to be the majority rules, now it's the loudest and Heaven forbid should you disagree with the loudest, you're (insert any word that people use).

I love it when people talk about blue state, red state, bla bla.  You know what people?  It's the people in the confines of that state that determine how their state leans.  Start checking things out and you'll see some of the states referred to (previously) as red or blue are now 1/2 of each or moving one way or another.

Stop trying to put people in boxes!  The talking heads on TV do that and they'll tell you anything to reach their agenda.

I'm almost 69 years old.  I used to love to watch the news.  No longer.  It's sad when anyone can sit and try to watch the news and within minutes into it it becomes obvious which way that reporter and station leans.  They've always done it somewhat but it's never been so abundantly obvious.

Just from glancing over this in the past few days!  It's obvious that no one is going to say, "Oh!  I've seen the light!  You are right"!

annabelle -

The funding they receive at PP is for birth control, physicals, etc. - Medicaid reimbursement for poor women with Medicaid cards.

That is it.

The funding is the Medicaid insurance of the individual who goes to the clinic and gets services covered by Medicaid.

The services the man objected to get NO government funding. It isn't allowed under law.

I think his utterances came from being in the area where he had one of many grudges he held.  What if the clinic had been closed?  If it was a mechanics shop, he'd utter some other nonsense.  A total wack job.

He didn't just happen to stroll by the clinic...he TARGETED the clinic and told the police immediately afterward why he did what he did. He knew the clinic would be open - he went there on a mission.

Why is this so difficult for you to comprehend?
