I do not read every  post on these forums.  I do other things in my life.  If my post was redundant, do forgive me please as I forgive you for your insensitivity.

Insensitive? It has always been QVC's policy that deleted threads or posts should not be restarted. The topics this week have been centered around the Paris attacks, in some of them the term collateral damage has been discussed at length. I don't think that you didn't read that and just randomly picked that term out of the air to re-start that discussion.

Many people get banned for doing that, good for you I guess that you haven't.

But as for insensitive in my reminding you of that? No, I think your reply in the thread about flying flags at half-staff would be in the realm of insensitive: Here it is in case you've forgotten. SMH

I do not believe we are all one except perhaps anatomically.  We are not one family, we are not global neighbors, we are not one in Christ nor anything else singular.  Lowered  flags will not stop monsters.  It is meant to appease the masses. Come on will ya.

I'm done with P.C. Just say what you mean and mean what you say. It's easier.

It was said, by persons from the military, that there is too many rules on dropping bombs, by the time they get the okay, the targets are gone.

Collateral damage is a very unfortunate reality of any war.

Remember the carpet bombing in Ruen, Normandy? 15,000 French civilians were killed there. Horrific, but we defeated Nazis.

Many examples like this, but this war is much more difficult and the world let that happened, the enemy is everywhere and we have to do what we have to do.

Period.

I agree.

And there is something important missing today, the understanding that  there are things that have to be done for the greater good.   That would be the greater good of humanity.  It won't be easy but eviscerating evil never is.....

And this is exactly the ideology of the enemy. How does this thinking make us any better than them?

We are fighting for good, for the right to ultimately live peacefully and without fear and to be free........ and they are fighting for evil, for their right to kill whomever they wish, for the right to suppress free religion, suppress women, mutilate genitals, honor killings.....

There comes the point where we have to decide if we want to live like that!  Their radical ideology doesn't even co-exist in their own part of the world.  They can't even get along with their own sects.  So the decision to eradicate what is obvious evil goes well beyond ideology.... even our Christian beliefs won't save us from this horror unless we make the decision to stop it.  And we can't possibly stop it by turning the other cheek..... they'll lop of the heads of those doing so.

So, perhaps we won't be better than them by getting rid of them.... BUT the world will end up safe, free, and without the fear of being blown up whilst seeing a concert, running a marathon or flying in a plane.

It's well worth it to me.....

They also believe they are fighting to rid the world of evil.  They also believe they are fighting on the right side.  The difference is, they don't care who they kill to fulfill their idea of what is right.  We do.  Thank goodness.

So what do you suggest we do? Maybe sit together and hold hands and wish away the enemy?

It's hard to reason with someone when you are being punched in the face.

France just got punched, and good for them for standing up for themselves.

Yes, I believe they do fervently believe this..... and it's unfortunate that there is absolutely no tolerance for anyone or anything believing differently.  We've been taught in our own ideologies that we must turn the other cheek.  But we are also taught that we must be vigilant in recognizing evil and getting rid of it.... and that's been difficult considering out own penchant for tolerance of other's beliefs (which I believe in 100%).   There are even ancient quatrains that foretell of an evil so great that it will build before our eyes without really being recognized and without much interference.  These radicals are now getting poised to effectively terrorize the world with the total Caliphate they've been striving for over 1,000 years!
