According to an article from NPR (I can't post the link from my iPad), there is a growing shortage of clowns! Older ones are retiring and there aren't enough younger ones coming along. For more info, just google "clown shortage."

Many people don't like clowns, even fear them. Fear of clowns is coulrophobia. Even some children are afraid of clowns (Santa Claus too of course!).

I enjoy the colorful costumes they wear but never have cared much for clowns or thought they were really funny.
