Closest we've ever been to a tornado

... at least when away from the house.  It was boogery yesterday! I like a good storm but not when I'm out on the road in my new car. We probably have one good  hail ding.  Had to take shelter under and overpass for about 20 minutes. Going through Lindale on our way home from Tyler there were tornado sirens going off all around us tornado warnings on our phones telling us to take shelter immediately.  It was black in the middle of the day. We didn't see any tornado activity but did see some tornado aftermath and there are lots of pictures posted online. We saw a video from the Tyler TV station of a lady that lives about a mile down the road recording what they said was a tornado forming but I didn't see it as that. I checked on the dogs from the Howie cam and it looks like they slept through the storm.

I'm wanting to get out on the interstate today and experience the car's Blue Cruise but right now there is high wind from the northwest and rain. Maybe by the time hubby gets up and ready for the day it will have moved out of the area.

A little rose hubby brought in the house after we got home. Maybe he felt gratitude that we made it home in one piece 😬

I have a question about this Rose. Several years ago we bought a Joseph's Coat rose bush.  As the name suggests, the Roses were many different colors but all of the years after the first year they have been all orange. Some years we fertilize and some years we haven't. Anyone familiar with a Joseph's Coat rose bush?  Have one? Are the roses different colors? Below is what it looked like when we bought it.

How scary!  Glad you're ok.  Tornados terrify me.  I'm in SW PA near Pittsburgh and we've had more than usual the last couple of years.  None right where I am but too close for comfort.

Gorgeous roses!  Especially the second pic.  Sometimers hybrid roses will revert to one of the colors of the roses that combined to make the hybrid color.

That is a Joseph Coat.  The rose you want it to look like is Chicago Peace.  Whoever sold you that rose sold you a Joseph Coat.  Whoever told you it was to look like the one in the picture was photographing a Chicago Peace.

P.S.  I am a consulting rosarian and I grew more than 500 roses and had to pass identifying more than 1700 different roses, identifying their diseases, treatment, etc.

This is not the rose your Joseph Coat was hybridized from, as a "revert to its original rose budding."  Your Joseph Coat rose is either "own root" (meaning it was not hybridized) or it was hybridized from Dr. Huey (a very red rose or Fortuniana a very white rose).  Your rose is definitely a Joseph Coat.  A true Joseph Coat from a reputable dealer.

@Nonametoday   The Peace rose is my all time favorite rose so fragrant. I also love the Mr. Lincoln red rose for it's beautiful fragrance. I wish that I could grow tea roses like these.

My dear sister and I had Joseph Coat climbing roses. We planted bare root, three of them. We had a tripod matal arbor and planted each one at the base. Absolutely gorgeous.
The colors were like your second photo. We would get our ladder out and prune them at least twice a year. I believe that is why they were so beautiful. They need to be pruned.

I am sorry but what in the world does boogery mean? Thank you all
