Im sure the concept behind that was to make it eaiser for you to find things etc.. However, even though you may not have anything to hide, does everyone need to see what you are carrying? Just an oberservation and a comment

Re: Clear Book Bags / Backpacks

There are workplaces that require them for the employees--probably all in retail.  Other than that, not something I would want.

@aj1980  some Companies require their employees to carry clear back packs so that it's easy for security to see what's inside. This is mostly for places where they don't trust their employees.

@aj1980

In the workplace, the bosses want to make sure employees don't steal anything.

In schools,  it's to make sure no contraband gets in.....like a gun!

Some concert/arena/stadium venues require them.

When I worked at Walmart, about 20 years ago, we were required to utilize clear tote bags for our personal belongings.  Nobody complained or seemed to mind.

@MamaWick  I forgot about that. When my nephew played football with Georgia State University at the Georgia Dome, it was clear bag packs or nothing. Those with regular back packs  or bags couldn't get in.

This is a security thing, not a fashion statement.  I believe it started with sports stadiums.  At least that was when I first became aware of it, quite a few years ago.  Post 9/11, maybe?

Can't really trust anyone, anywhere these days.  I am so glad all Philly schools and stadiums have metal detectors, and I certainly support clear plastic bags and backpacks as requested for all security needs.
