I read using car wax with caranuba wax might remove scratches on black appliances.

I have a surface scratch on a black fridge which is only 6 months old. I was cleaning something off like I always do with a micro fiber cloth and don't know if I rubbed too hard or what.

You really need to look at a certain angle to even see it. I'm thinking I probably should just leave it alone but am wondering if anyone ever tried the caranuba wax and if it worked.

It's on the door which is a smooth shiny finish.

It wouldn't hurt to try it. After I clean the tile in the shower, I spray window cleaner and wipe it off. It seems to prevent water drop spots. Also, use dishwasher gel in your drains over night then run hot water in the morning. Works better then the products sold for the purpose.

The only thing I know that wax worked fantastic on, besides my many race and regular cars? In my first townhome I ordered a 1-piece shower and bathtub combo that was made out of fiberglass. I waxed everything but the floor on this and water just ran off of it and I seldom had to clean it because of this runoff.

Appliances? Beats me, but I would research a bit before I would try it on something that cost over 3 figures for sure, even if it isn't all that noticeable.

You could cover the scratch with a black Sharpie. I've done that before and it made a difference. I also have brown, and other colors of Sharpies, for stuff like wood.

What about the products used on vehicles? There are touch-up kits for scratches that come in colors. Ibiz is a wax/cleaner that works pretty well to hide scratches on my red car. It's recommended by the Corvette clubs and was sold on QVC. (I drive a little Scion that thinks it's a Corvette)

I would recommend Meguiar's Black Wax...

You can use an appliance touch up pen. They sell them at Home Depot, lowes, or hardware stores. Homax is one brand. Check in the appliance section

I used I found in the aisle with Rust-Oleum and other spray paints. It's in a bottle like Whiteout.
