Agnes Moorehead. So glad so many remember her films. She was a real workhorse in movies before Bewitched.

^Yes, after the incredible parts she had, I don't know how she stood playing "Endora" for years!

it probably had to do with staying relevant and making money.

I know how she "stood" it- she played it absolutely brilliantly and everyone who saw even ONE episode had to laugh at her evil charm. One of the best!

Has anyone mentioned Loretta Young? Although maybe she was always the lead actress.

Angela Lansbury was the quintessential second lead in almost all of her hundreds of films. She could always be counted upon for a great performance. I loved her in "The Long Hot Summer," starring Paul Newman, Joanne Woodward, and Orson Welles . . . one of my favorite movies of all time. I own it and watch it often.

I love the line, "No, thankya, Will."

She found her niche, obviously, on TV.

I'm sure it did; I just think the part was beneath her.

The first name that came to mind was Thelma Ritter. She seemed so natural in every role. I'm pleased to see others feel the same way. Pillow Talk and Miracle on 34th Street were most memorable to me but I also remember her in other films. She was always first-rate and totally believable.
