Here's my prediction...

You'll head out to your fave store next week for groceries, etc and the place will be picked clean of all insecticide products that will show up on ebay, marketplace, etc at 3x the price.

@4kitties   Yes I have mentioned here recently I like to sleep on my screen porch at times in summer.  I like to listen to the insects OUTSIDE my house!  I miss all the lightening bugs we used to see as kids in the city. They were everywhere but now I don't see as many- same with butterflies...

We have cicadas every spring, but not the gazillions that are predicted for the parts of the country; ours are the ones that emerge annually.. They don't bite or sting; they're just loud. The exoskelton look like pork rinda to me, and the crunching sound of stepping on them is pretty gross. Don't bother with insecticides///they live underground.

I am in Illinois.  We will be blessed with both types of cicadas.

I detest these things.

I am always so glad when that particular summer is over.

People around me have stated that they have seen the holes in the ground where they are going to come out of.

@Mz iMac My dog is eating cicadas...only bugs I've ever seen him eat!

I'm in South Carolina. Our property (and this entire area, really) is heavily wooded. The cicadas are so loud that, even with the windows shut and the AC running, we can hear them!
