So you came on the thread just to reprimand the poster since had you actually read the OP you'd know that she has been to her doctor about her tiredness.

I read it. she obviously needs to get a second opinion. it doesn't sound like her doctor gave it a lot of thought. maybe a specialist as another poster suggested.

When was the last time you had your hemoglobin and Iron levels tested?

It took many doctors and four years before I was finally diagnosed with CFS and Fibro. It's not always so easy to ""just go to the doctor"". They don't always know what the problem is.

I am not sure. I do know that I admire your having the knee replacements one after another, as people don't realize it, but these are major surgeries, and it takes a full year before the knee is back at its normal strength. But chronic
Myself, I had one 7 mo ago, and still do my exercises, as my right knee is also acting up at times, and hope I can postpone the surgery on that leg. I do take Vit. B12, 1000 mg/day and that helps with energy, and for this relatively low amount you may not have to talk to your doctor about it. When doing my city tours, I take 3,000 mg. as that is walking 4 miles or so, and that is taking all my energy and start talking really low, but this helps me with that.
I am wishing you well, and hope things will improve for you soon. You may talk to your surgeon and ask if doing more rehab would help your case. Then when you learn more exercises, you can do them at home, which I do and feel very good about it.
But, i too don't think this is chronic fatigue, but possibly depression. Do see your doctor on this, or if the dr. feels it is related to your surgeries, you may see your surgeon again.
Wishing you the best of luck, and hope good summer weather may also help you feel better.
Hugs,
magenta

Have your vitamin D3 level checked. Low levels of that can cause severe fatigue.

Tired people out there - please have your thyroids checked. I've learned from personal experience how much impact that little gland can have on energy, muscle strength and overall well being.

It took 2 1/2 years, three ER visits, 21 doctors and countless tests to finally get the Epstein Barr diagnosis. And, I was finally the one who suggested they test me for Epstein Barr. I take an antiviral and that has helped keep the Epstein Barr levels lower. My immune system has not been able to suppress the virus on its own. I have to be very carful not to overdo or get over stressed because it makes the virus levels rise. And then it takes lots and lots of rest to get them to lower again so that I feel better.Gidget ~ I haven't had a a big fatigue episode since, but I do notice that when a get a virus (stomach or cold) it sticks with me longer (1-2weeks), while the rest of my family quickly recovers.
While Epstein Barr triggers some cases of CFIDs it's certainly not present in all patients. I've had CFIDs for 17 years and never had EB. OP, when you say you're tired all the time, how limited is your activity? Can you work and do normal activities? Are you sleeping well? If so, it's unlikely you have CFIDs. Unfortunately, the diagnosis is trial and error as is the treatment. When I got ill, my doctor was one of the pioneers in CFIDS research and it took 18 months to get me to the point I could work. Exercise can often make Chronic Fatigue worse. I recommend you look at this website and then go talk to your doctor about your symptoms and specific solutions.
