How long do you keep your lights on indoors and out?  Mine usually are set for 5:00 and off at 1:00 am for indoor and outdoor are duck to dawn.  Tempted to keep indoor on all day cause it has not been so sunny most days!

We have the indoor lights on all day and turn them off when we go to bed.  DH works from home so it is nice to have them on- it is festive.  The outdoor lights come on when it is dark and go off sometime after we go to bed.

When I was a child the "signal" that Santa had come was that the Christmas Tree lights were on. Normally we only turned on the tree lights when it got dark. But on Christmas morning the lights were on. This was a sign that Santa had come.  We would leave the tree lights on all day long on Christmas Day.  But otherwise we only did it when it got dark.  But your idea is nice to have on all day.

I have minimal lights on the outside and Balsam Hill candles in all my windows.  They are set on timers coming on at 4:30pm and going off at 10:30pm.   We are an end unit townhouse, so it's the last unit at a cul de sac.  No need to leave those on all night as no one will see them anyway.  As far as indoors I have a few older Candle Impression snowman candles that stay lit 24/7 (the old ones didn't have timers) also DH likes the tree on all the time.   All other lanterns and things come on with timers set the same as the outside.

I'm retired so home all day.  I turn on the interior Christmas lights--3 trees and mantel--as soon as I get up and turn them off when I go to bed.  The exterior lights are controlled by smart devices, and we turn those on between 4:30 and 5:00pm (unless it's a cloudy day, and depending on how cloudy, they will be turned on much earlier in the day) and turn them off around 10.

Ours all come on at 5:00 P.M. and go off inside and out at 1:00 A.M. We have them on timers so it works great.

Outdoor lights are on a timer, from 5pm till 10pm.

Indoors, sometimes as soon as I am awake, sometimes not till afternoon as the sun goes down.  No particular time frame.
