@TW How can anything make you hate Christmas?? If you don't like the QVC presentation, turn it off. There are many of us out there who keep Christmas in our hearts all year long, and we love CIJ whether we buy anything or not. It isn't about commercialism; it's about the joy of anticipating the season of giving.

I don't mind "sneak peeks" or Christmas in July, but I want to appreciate summer right now! Smiley Wink

I don't mind CIJ at all. It is a nice change from the boring items/shows that are usually on the Q.  None of the the CIJ or commercialism has made you hate Christmas. Hating is a choice. You chose to feel that way.  By all means, watch something else or go to a movie, make a puzzle, call a friend. If it bothers you that much do something else. But to hate Christmas just because they are showing Christmas decor, nah.

I don't care for any of it, but I also don't think it's all about me so I can deal.  Like others, I just don't watch.   Smiley Happy  Makes it easy to ignore and not have it affect me.

I think one thing that often surprises me is that there are a lot of people who must watch this stuff 24/7.    If I did that I would be terribly bored.  I think the key is variety.   There is almost always a ton of stuff to watch so my tv time is good, and I have a lot of time on my hands.  Smiley Very Happy

@TW I so agree with you and was thinking the same thing the other day when I saw Q's pre-Christmas in July sale.  Its not just the Q that does it, it's all the stores so its hard to escape it.  If it were just the Q, it'd be easy to avoid.

Last year I was so sick of all things Christmas that I didn't even decorate.  There used to be a special feeling about Christmas for me - I'd start looking forward to decorating, baking, music, a week or so before Thanksgiving.  Now with retail stores starting in July, by Thanksgiving I'm begging the holidays to be over.

I love Christmas and I put my Christmas decorations out early.  However, I don't like Christmas in July.  Just seems silly to me and what they are selling all looks like cheap stuff you can get at the dollar store and Garden Ridge for a lot less and no shipping.

I noticed that Christmas stuff comes on earlier each year.  First it's Christmas in July now it's Christmas in June.  I guess next year it will be Christmas in May.  All this has made me hate Christmas.  By the time Christmas comes around I am so sick of seeing Xmas stuff or hearing Xmas music.  I used to love Christmas especially in Europe where it is so festive.  They have Christmas markets in December.  Here in the U.S. it has deteriorated into a disgusting commercialized holiday.  I don't even celebrate Christmas anymore.

It's pitiful for anyone to let what others are doing (especially retailers) ruin a holiday or season for them.

No one has to watch the shows, listen to the music (heck the stations on the radio here don't even begin the music till the day after Thanksgiving) or participate in things outside a time frame they choose to do, it isn't a law or anything.

I'd say you don't celebrate the holiday anymore because of you and your changing attitudes/needs/desires, but need to blame retail for it.

I have NEVER cared for the Christmas in July theme. Have to chuckle as I freely voice my opinion - have been doing it for 20 plus years. Still will not watch it. OK, saves me money but to me Christmas is not ALL about things like this. There are those who truly enjoy it - that is fine too.

I will wait for Christmas. Do not say that so quickly any more - I am now older than dirt so I appreciate every day I get and just not always sure how many Christmases I still have. LOL

I will say, that I hate all the fashion/shoes/handbags/beauty that we are bombarded with endlessly on this channel, but I don't let it ruin my day, and I don't let it cause me to go about my life naked (like the OP abandons the season and holiday because of seeing it too much), simply because I get sick of seeing it on a particular TV channel.

Purchased just one CIJ item, and it had free shipping.
