@SharkE

That's right!

It's SEPTEMBER! RUN! HURRY! BUY THAT TREE NOW!

edited to add: perhaps sellers are panicking? What if everyone decided to keep what they already have and only use that?

No wonder some people (like me!) are so sick of Christmas by the time it gets here, after months of lead up, that they can't wait for it to be over.

Talk about over-saturation.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

When i was young and worked for Walgreens 1984-93 we had to have Christmas aisle, cosmetic dept and the trees decorated and up on top of the aisle for dispay models. by Nov. 1st. We had about 10 days to do it (Walgreens didnt run overnight crews for this stuff).  Not sure if they have changed timeline or not.

Some of these brick and mortar are pushing it perhaps because of the online shopping competition where inventory and  shipping needs this advanced planning. jmo.

Its really icky to me to have Chrismas out before Halloween has even happened in the brick and mortar stores.

Christmas and Halloween has been out in my local stores since August.

I bought a Reeses pumpkin shaped peanut butter cup at Dollar General and it had melted in the package.

They don't have AC in my store. All that Halloween candy has been sitting in there melting away for over a month now.

Wah wah wah. 😒👻

Retail functions far ahead due to the ramp up needed to be fully stocked.  When summer merchandise sells out, they need to fill it with something and Halloween isn't usually enough to fill all the space.

Having worked for a toy retailer for 6 holiday seasons 2 jobs ago, the planning starts very early and shipments follow quickly.  There aren't enough days to get all the products out if it starts later.  In addition, the earlier the merch comes in, the earlier there are sales and promotions.

@SharkE --no--it's called RETAIL---I worked retail for 12 years and every 5 or 6 th of July is when the holiday stuff would start rolling in. By Aug there was a section in the back of the store for Halloween and fall and then Xmas---

There is a very nice garden nursery in my town and they spend the last part of August/ first of Sept,  putting up many faux trees all decorated and then the xmas stuff is out too. It's  the way of retail.

Some people get paid once a month!  That gives them 3 paychecks 'til Christmas
