Sometimes it's hard to get into the Christmas spirit, for various reasons. So, tomorrow I'm going to go grocery shopping to buy food for a local food bank. I feel better already.

My daugter will not be home for Christmas. We decorated the yard, but not the inside of the house. We decided we would spend our money on Angel Tree kids this year and it was so much fun. We donated to our food bank, and an animal shelter. We don't need another widget.

I'm having a hysterectomy on 12/27 so I intend to party like it's 1999.
I celebrate XMas eve with my best friend and her family, then celebrate XMas day with a group of very close friends. None of us have family in town, so we take turns hosting dinner on XMas day. Lots of gifts, lots of food and lots of love and laughter. It's not my year to host, so I just bring a dish.
My gifts are all purchased, wrapped and under the tree. I have a small grocery store run to do next week, then it's enjoy time.

I am truly in the Christmas spirit, unfortunately I will only be seeing 3 of my 4 kids for the holidays but will be meeting my new son in law and his family for the first time Christmas Eve (My youngest daughter eloped last month).
I picked two names from the Angel tree, both six year old girls. One wants Shopkins and the other Troll items. I'm having a blast getting their items.

I celebrated Christmas with family at thanksgiving. It's too much flying back again for Christmas, plus the snow and cold weather usually aren't in my favor. I have some gifts for a handful of friends that I need to wrap. I'll spend Christmas eve with my local family. I have to have a colonoscopy Wednesday, so I can't think about Christmas until I hear the results are clear.

I have been, to some extent, in the Christmas spirit and could be a lot more except that physical issues have, and still are, keeping me from enjoying a regular full-on holiday as far as running around, and enjoying good food and drink. My first Christmas as a resident in my new home (as opposed to a visitor) and I had many plans that I can't do. But there is a light and a tunnel, so - next year, watch out!
I bought a teddy bear in the grocery store, the proceeds of which go to a food bank, and also donated to the local Salvation Army campaign on the day of my surgery.
But the fact that I will be surrounded by the family I love, when I couldn't always count on that before, is plenty of Christmas spirit and gratefulness for me this year. Doody happens to us all, and I'll be a happy camper even if I may not be a comfortable one 🎅🏻🎄🐾🐈☃️
Rain and high winds tomorrow - a good day to cuddle with the kitty!

I'm sorry your holiday season is being somewhat overshadowed by upcoming surgery.
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery. And so glad you have plans with friends for the upcoming festivities. Enjoy the time with them.

Waiting for results can be so trying. Prayers and good thoughts that all will be well with your test.
This may sound crazy, but I have tried to get my yearly exams to fall more in the spring/summer so that if treatment is needed, I'm not fighting the weather for trips out of town, and when the holidays roll around, I have all the tests and waiting behind me.
I know that isn't always possible when things come up, but I do it whenever possible.
Best wishes!
