Last year I did 99% of my x-mas shopping on-line because I was ill.  However, it never really felt like x-mas and part of that was because I never got out to stores.  This year I plan on hitting the stores for my holiday shopping.

I want to be a part of the crowds, the holiday music playing while I shop.

Sounds like you had a great shopping day! I love when that happens! I do much Christmas shopping on line, only when I don't find things locally! Unfortunately, many stores by me, especially TJ maxx are hit and miss, and I usually miss! I do ok at Walmart and Homegoods! JoAnne's fabric shops also have great things, usually on sale! I was shocked to find so many Frozen items there last year for my grand! Plus, they have awesome seasonal items. Oh, I also got great gift items at AC Moore! I expected to find mostly craft items, but there were lots of great, inexpensive and unique gifts!

@Q4u  I feel your frustration! We are not as "boonyish" as you, but, there are so many A list store within a decent shopping radius that all our stores get "C" or even ""D" type merchandise! When we finally got a Macy's I couldn't wait to shop there! But, except for a handful of Michael Khors and Dooney handbags, you'd never realize you weren't in Sears! Only Sears carries better children's clothing!

Never underestimate the power of kindness.

@GATORGIRL. Well, then, I think we must be more selfless and shop more to save the world! Someone tell my dh, please?

@chrystaltree. plus, I think the items on line are less shop worn! At least I feel they are fresher! I still shop locally, as well! You can't be too rich, too thin, or...oh heck. You just can't shop too much!

Never underestimate the power of kindness.

Until it doesn't fit or you have to return it for another reason.    Shipping is loosy goosy,  dispite tracking, you never know when something shows up.

I ilke to touch, try on, etc & the local stores offer way more discounts.   I've had some coupons and racked up on the Columbus day sales locally.   And I work full time too -- 11 hour days.

I have a full time job so schlepping from store to store with shopping bags is not my idea of a good time.  And shopping online has totally spoiled me.  Why limiit myself to the items on the racks in stores when the entire world is available?  And it all comes right to my door.

I've been in Belk & Penny's & Walmart this week, I see nothing that looks  like LOGO.

I actually looked for LOGO-like garments after seeing posts here that the style is everywhere.

I've said several times here that those LOGO styles are showing up everywhere.  I like the layer look and have done this type dressing for awhile, but I'm still in the minority on that where I live.  Hope that never changes.  I like being unique, and NO, I do not dress like those LOGO presentations on QVC.

I've done 95% of my shopping online for the last 2-3 years. I was working then, but even though I'm not working any longer, I just don't have the energy to schlepp through malls, never mind that malls are few and very far between for me now and many of the stores I could count on as backup are gone, so the stores IN the malls aren't the be-all they once were.

I like the mall/shopping center Xmas atmosphere *after* my shopping is done. Then I can truly enjoy it.

Internet shopping came along at just the right time for me - when favorite stores started closing or their merchandise lost its quality, and mall shopping became a major PITA both physically and mentally. Viva internet shopping!
