@AuntMame - I had that happen with Amazon, when I ordered a new case for DH's phone.  It said "in stock",  it was Prime shipping.

When it hadn't even shipped over two weeks later, I thought what the heck is going on.  Finally realized it must be on a slow boat from China and wasn't expected to be delivered for what would have been a month.

I didn't need it that badly.  I cancelled and when it asked why, I clicked that it was taking too long!  So much for Prime shipping.

(Most of the time my shipping with Amazon is fast, to give them credit.)

It's frustrating, isn't it? Especially since Amazon has been so dependable in the past.

Amazon keeps asking whether I want to cancel my orders. After two months waiting, yeah I do. But when I start to cancel, Amazon says that if I cancel I will be charged shipping for the other items in the order because the order total will be less than the $35 needed to get free shipping. <groan> Why should I pay for Amazon's incompetency? So I'll let the orders time-out instead.

Annoying. It's upholstery thread that I need for a project. I can't buy it anywhere local, now that JoAnn's is out of business.

Amazon has always been so quick and convenient for things like this. And dependable. I worry that those days are gone.

Ironic. Such simple things that were so easily available in the past--just a few years ago upholstery thread could be conveniently purchased from local upholstery stores (they're all out of business now), or JoAnn's or Hancock's--are now inaccessible thanks to our digital age.

@AuntMame - Have you spoken to an actual Amazon CS rep about the issue?  They may waive any shipping charges, given the circumstances.

Worth a try!

This is amazing to me.  On 5/20 I ordered a dog collar from Amazon. When I checked the tracking I saw it was coming from China.  Lo and behold today 5/25 I received it.

No slow boat from China for @Bonkers1 .  Amazon Air is the only way to go!  Woot woot!

I did speak to an Amazon CS rep. She said Amazon would contact the vendor. Then after I hung up I got a slew of baffling emails from Amazon reporting that they were "renewing" the orders and changing the ship dates. Robot tongue Then crickets. Another month passed. I then got another email from Amazon reporting that if I didn't renew the orders again they would automatically cancel in a months' time.  So I'll let Amazon auto-cancel the orders if that's what they plan to do. If they charge me shipping after Amazon cancels the order I'll call CS again.

The items are still reported as "In Stock" and "Shipped by Amazon."

I get all my doggie products from Chewy.  I really like their products and great service.  You do have to spend 45.00 to get free shipping, but I never have a problem spending 45.00.

@San Antonio Gal

I do order from Chewy also but many times Amazon has a better price.  I know what you mean saying it doesn't take much to reach minimum s/h.
