This is amazing to me.  On 5/20 I ordered a dog collar from Amazon. When I checked the tracking I saw it was coming from China.  Lo and behold today 5/25 I received it.

@Bonkers1 Not sure what your point is.  Item comes from China?  No surprise there.  How quickly you got the item?  Obviously came to the US by air.

I have a pair of shorts and a few tee shirts from Amazon that must be on that slow boat.

I ordered them on May 18th and they won't be here until some time between June 1 - June 7.

I have learned to pay attention to the shipping arrival time (Amazon) and base my decision whether or not to wait for it or not before I pay.

@Cats3000

The point is I got it in only a few days coming from China.  My US orders usually take 7-10 days.  I expected a longer delivery time coming from out of the country.

I'm surprised.  I ordered a pair of pants. Took about 2 months.  It left China then to  Ireland then Italy. Several weeks later it was at customs in SC. then on to NJ for a couple weeks then to me in Pa.  It saw the world!!  Oh, they were bought on the big A sight. I didn't realize A had over seas vendors also the shipping time when I purchased was only 5 days. I kept getting message your order hasbeen delayed. I think they just said that to get the order.

Here's my opinion on the subject.  I recently placed  an order that supposedly originated in the State of Ct and I live on the other side of the country. My order was inexpensive and air delivery not an option in the ordering process nor would a company pay the extra money to fly out my less than $100 order when I didn't pay for it myself. Yet, I received the item 2 days later. No one will ever convince me that out  of the goodness of their heart it was air shipped to little o me.  There are warehouses all over the place  and most if not all do not advertise on the outside of their buidings.

The only real delays I've had was during the pandemic when everyone was trying to order masks. They all seemed to be coming from China.

Amazon tip

If the item is not coming from Amazon, click on the "seller's name."

The next page takes you to their "street" address.

Approximatly 85-90% of items coming from China are actually shipped from their USofA offices/warehouses in New York.  Their address is written in Chinese except for the words New York, New York, USA.

It's a good possibility if your tracker shows coming from the country of China, their USofA office/warehouse is out of stock. Smiley Tongue

I'm wondering whether Amazon isn't doing more drop-shipping. In other words, you buy something on Amazon that says "Sold by Amazon" and "Shipped by Amazon." They place an order for it from a vendor in China. It's shipped directly to you from China rather than from an Amazon warehouse in the U.S.

Other retailers have done this for years.

I have a couple Amazon orders that have sat for nearly 2 months without shipping. Both products are described as "Shipped by Amazon." I've called customer service and they haven't a clue why they haven't shipped, although they've said they're coming from another vendor. They've also been listed as "In Stock" on Amazon the entire time.
