Ah, not the most important issue in the universe!

For full disclosure, my daughter used a pacifier for YEARS. She only used it for sleep. My daughter had a lot of issues, so if the pacifier soothed her for sleep, I reluctantly allowed it.

She needed thousands of dollars of orthodontia, in 2 phases - baby teeth and permanent teeth. The results are beautiful, but it cost a LOT of money, time and discomfort for her. The orthodontist said the use of the pacifier probably contributed to the maligned teeth.

There are kids across the street who always are seen with a pacifier. Even out playing on the lawn. It's certainly not my business, so I would never say anything. I don't get letting a child use a pacifier (other than an infant) to run around with.
