If I find anything out, I'll post the information. They didn't even say when it would be presented.

Re: Chickenbutt & Free2Be: Polish Stoneware

Well, Lidia has an opportunity to fill a sorry void left by Gloria's leaving (or axing). I'll never understand that boneheaded QVC decision.

If anyone wonders about the quality of its strength, I recently dropped a plate on the stovetop. The plate survived without a scratch, the stovetop enamel, not so much, it took quite a ding. That speaks to the quality Gloria sells. Lidia's may be just as strong but it doesn't appear to be painted by equal talent.

There you are {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

It's my guess they ended the contract with Gloria so they could push their own brand of "stoneware," Temp-Tations. Big mistake imo, too.

I think we're spoiled, Free. I don't like the design on the sides of the new stuff on Q, it looks like that much cheaper brand you see on some sites, or at Costco when they have a traveling PS presentation.

I bought a beautiful hand painted in P or tubal bowl and all it says on the bottom is "Coimbra hand painted inPortugal" and the name of the artist. I asked the store if they knew if it was heat safe, could I bake in it, put in dishwasher, etc.... But no one knew... Honestly it's so beautiful, even if I can only put cold food in it it was worth it....but I would love to know if anyone knows about this type of pottery.. Love my Polish, too...

I looked up Coimbra and it's a city in Portugal, which you probably already knew Smile

Does it say that it's stoneware, or can you tell that it is by the weight and maybe an unfinished ridge on the bottom?

The old Polish stoneware on Q can be used in the oven or microwave. If you don't know for sure about your piece, I'd just use it as a serving piece, too. Maybe someone else has that brand.

It's so beautiful! Thanks ! I don't want to take a chance, I will look for an unfinished ridge on the bottom.....

I'd think the heft of the piece tells you something, too. Gloria's PS is a lot heavier than Tept-Tations stoneware, and I've seen numerous people say Temp-Tations can crack in an oven. I haven't heard anyone say that about PS. But still... you love it so much, I wouldn't take a chance unless I knew for sure.

I hope you find out the real story! Maybe look online for a store that sells it, call and call and ask them if they know.

Re: Chickenbutt & Free2Be: Polish Stoneware

I'm happy to see Polish Stoneware coming back to QVC. I'm interested in that rimmed serving platter...and the price looks good. I'll either buy it and send it back if I don't like it,or wait to read the reviews.

Re: Chickenbutt & Free2Be: Polish Stoneware

Here's an example of a platter that Gloria sells, almost exactly the same size, just a hair wider for nearly 3 times more than Lidia's platter. Even $55 for a platter is a lot of money if you don't have a lot to spend so I hope this new offering holds up, no chipping, cracking, etc. Pretty is in the eye of the beholder. Before buying a far less expensive offering, I'd first check out Gloria's sales in her "Downstairs" and "Cellar" departments.

Just looking at Gloria's platter makes my heart go pitter patter. There's no comparison, imo.

Re: Chickenbutt & Free2Be: Polish Stoneware

Someone please refresh my memory...what line did Gloria represent when she was on QVC? I get online offers from several Polish pottery websites... And I can usually get 20 percent off.
