Chicago Traffic question

Hello Everyone, I will soon be heading off to Great Lakes Ill. And I was wondering if someone could tell me about tolls and traffic on roads I 94 and I 294 heading out of O'Hare. We will arrive around 6 pm on a Thurs. evening and head to GL. Then back again on Sun. night from GL to the airport. We are not familar with this area at all. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
