Re: Check your debit card receipts

Maybe hubby took cash back and forgot about it? Maybe he bought additional items and they added up to more then you thought? Things are expensive these days.

It would be hard for the cashier to steal the $50 . Using Debit Machine he has to authorize the correct amount when it pops up..$50 is something he would of noticed.

Re: Check your debit card receipts

If your husband used the debit card as a debit card, he'd have to enter the PIN. If he didn't enter the PIN and used the card as a credit rather than a debit card, cash cannot be given back.

Re: Check your debit card receipts

I'm back from the grocery store. They were able to provide me a printed receipt of what he purchased. Well he certainly did purchase quite a bit. He totally forgot about all the ingredients he bought for making chili, the soda, the frozen french fries, the deli, etc, etc. I guess I wasn't paying attention when he came home from the store. My excuse, uhh, arriving home at 10pm the day before after 13 hours on the road.

I am embarrassed to have made such an issue over this, but was bound and determined to find out if something untoward happened. It was a learning experience, as I didn't know that the grocery store could recover this info. And also now will KEEP all receipts until they clear the bank!

What a relief! (this is usually what I find when I see something "strange" on my account too)- save everything!

Do you think the fish cost more than you thought it would. I was at giant eagle recently and they were sampling salmon and it was really good but it was on sale for 12.00 a pound. Weighed at checkout produce items can end up costing more than you think too.

Fresh USA Halibut was 16.99lb yesterday. It was the best I ever had, but what a treat. Pretty expensive.
