I use boiling water on my counters,faucets,  kitchen & bath, and on cloths to wipe windows.  Of course, I also use spray disinfectants.

I mixed up clorox bleach with water in spray bottles. It's cheap. DH picked up several. I told him I would never use all that. They did not have any disinfectant type cleaners in the stores.

DH took a large spray bottle to work. He sprayed everything in his office. LOL!!! I told him to keep his door closed. He also has a bottle of hand sanitizer in his pocket.

No matter how careful I am, when I get creative with bleach, I manage to get spots on myself.

I have always had a squirt bottle of bleach water in my kitchen.

@Elri I  Are you using a steamer to disinfect? I’m trying to picture how you’d get boiling water on those surfaces otherwise.

Diluted bleach solutions need to be made daily. Bleach is highly degraded by light. If you make a diluted bleach solution for disinfecting, make a small amount and put it in an opaque container. it's good for just one day then after that it won't kill any germs, or very few of them. Effective strength is 10% for it to kill germs.

I know about this because I worked in a medical lab where infection control was part of my job.

@Teddie

In the kitchen, I use my teakettle.  I keep a small electric  kettle (Bodum) on a shelf in the bathroom.  The style doesn't suggest "Let's have tea & crumpets."🙃  It's really not very noticeable.

I just pour it on.  Cleans stove tops, pour on thick cleaning towel and wipe the tile backsplashes.  🌸

I can't help it, @Elri I .  That just sounds dangerous to me.  Better you than me - I know that I'd end up scalding myself at some point.
